I am starting a blog (hate the word “blog” — more on that in a future blog) so I have a place to thank everyone who entered to win a copy of SOCKWORLD in the Goodreads giveaway. 3029 people entered. I truly wish I could have sent a copy of the book to every one of them. The three lucky winners were:
Cadence, from Gridley, Kansas
Alyssa, from Modesto, California
Olivia, from Neenah, Wisconsin
If you’ve been doing the math, that makes 3 happy people, and 3026 who are mildly to seriously displeased. As a lifelong loser of contests myself, I know the pain that those of you who have lost are going through, and can assure you that life does go on, though it will be just a bit more subdued and sadder than before. I am the sort of person who, no matter how outrageously slim the odds of winning may be, am always genuinely surprised when I don’t win a contest that I’ve entered. I’ve been surprised a lot. I think that is the reason I have all these wrinkles in my forehead. — it’s due to the sheer number of times my eyebrows have shot up in surprise. (It may also have something to do with old age, but that seems less likely).
Again, thanks to everyone who entered. To those of you who thought about entering but didn’t because you figured you’d never win, well, kudos to you. — you were right!
